Todd Tremeer is an artist. He studied painting and printmaking at the Ontario College of Art and Design and then history at the University of Guelph. He has a teaching degree from the University of Brock and his Master’s of Fine Arts through the University of Western Ontario.

Todd has taught art in the public schools, at various galleries, Sheridan College Institute and the University of Western Ontario. Many years ago he trained as a soldier in the Canadian Army Reserves and, as a university student, spent two summers in the Fort Henry Guard. For his history paintings, he has been awarded the Joseph Plaskett Award for new Canadian Painters and also various Canada Council and Ontario Arts Council Grants.

Todd’s ongoing history painting project considers national narratives of war and memory. Recently, he has shown at galleries in Bowmanville, Elora, Cambridge, London, Stouffville and Whitby. Upcoming shows include Victoria BC, North Bay, Kingston, St. Thomas, Montreal and Washington D.C. His historically themed murals can be seen in downtown Bowmanville.
