Since 1975 Chris has dedicated his professional life as an outdoor guide, educator and photographer, to sharing with others the backcountry of central British Columbia and celebrating its beauty and majesty. He now lives in the South Cariboo with his partner, Rita and daughter Teresa. Their home provides a base for the continued exploration, and expression through imagery of this unequaled landscape.

His gallery of fine-art prints at home is a destination for visitors and collectors from all over, and he is recognized in the area for his skill and dedication in portraying this beautiful Canadian province to the rest of the world.

In 2007 Chris released his newest book Spirit in the Grass: The Cariboo Chilcotin’s Forgotten Landscape, to overwhelming praise. This book has re-defined a genre and revealed a precious and mostly unknown ecosystem in this province.

Chris’ overriding passion is to bring to others the beauty and wonder that it is his privilege to experience every day. Through photography he seeks to inspire others with his own sense of the sacredness of the Earth.
“The stunning images in this book evoke wonder and awe, which are essential if we are to love and fight to protect such sacred places”. – David Suzuki

Chris is widely respected for his innovative work in self-publishing books of photography, having independently published and distributed ten successful books; and for his exceptional artistry in photographically fulfilling his stated mission of giving expression to beauty in all its manifestations in the natural world.
His imagery is also represented world-wide through several stock agencies.
